James W. Bailey, 80, of Salinas, died at his home on Saturday, July 29, 2006, in Salinas.
He was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Modesto. James was a retired district manager for Pacific Telephone Co.
Memberships: Life member of the Monterey County Sheriff's Posse, Crosby/AT&T Golf Volunteer, Monterey County Horsemen Association and Salinas Rodeo Volunteer.

Military service: Served in the U.S. Navy, World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Donna C. Bailey of Salinas; daughter, Patricia M. Bailey of Salinas; son, Michael J. Bailey of Sonora; grandsons, Sean M. Bailey and Terrance J. Bailey of Geyserville.

  • Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Struve and Laporte, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas.
  • Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Jamestown, CA.
